The Training Doesn’t Stop

boisterousWell these past couple of months have been quiet on the lax end. Fall ball at the college level has come to a close… Winter has settled in and Holidays were in full swing…. But training has been in full swing for anyone training for US. The Challenge Cup in Florida is right around the corner and this is no time to lay off and be lazy. Its cold yes but that can’t stop anyone from strapping on the gloves, hat and maybe two pairs of socks and head to the fields to do some sprints. Awful, awful weather steers me personally to the treadmill but if its not too bad the only way to get better is on that field. I feel like sometimes when I go to the gym though people are staring at me because I’m banging hard on the treadmill as i run or sweating more then the average girl but I guess unlike them I’m not there to catch up on my weekly show or read people magazine while working out. Maybe being at the field is better….. but playing with the rest of your teammates and being able to put on that US jersey is worth it all!

Its not just about the running though, I have to get out there with my stick and I try to shoot at least two times a week. My pops is my number one feeder and he is always up for a good toss. Along with getting in the weight room as well I am able to run some clinics this winter in the area and its a great way to keep the stick in my hand as well have some fun and teach some little guys. Check out our website Playersedgelacrosse.com for other clinics and camps we will be doing all over! For now its just training and doing what you can to keep warm in Maryland until sunny warm Florida. Keep warm and check us out in Florida in only a couple short weeks! Go USA!
